Studio · est. Christchurch

We build the web app you keep saying “someone should build”, and the AI agent that runs it.

D3V is a Christchurch studio of seven full-stack developers. We make websites, custom applications, AI integrations and voice agents for businesses that want a partner, not a feature factory.

What we make

Six tools, one studio that runs them all.

Each of these can stand alone. Most of our best work is two or three of them stitched together.

01

Websites that load fast and keep ranking.

Marketing sites, content sites and WordPress builds, hand-tuned for Core Web Vitals and shipped with a CMS you can edit without ringing us first.

See how we build websites

Custom web apps, opinionated in a good way.

Internal tools, CRMs, dashboards, customer portals. Laravel and Livewire, the stack we’ve been refining for a decade. Boring on purpose, fast where it matters.

03

AI where it cuts hours from your week.

Retrieval, chat agents, document workflows, smart automations stitched into your existing systems. We measure success in time saved, not tokens spent.

See our AI work

A real-time agent that picks up the phone.

Voice agents for bookings, triage and after-hours coverage. Sits on your existing number, sounds like a receptionist, books like one too.

Hear it talk

05

Mobile apps for problems that live in pockets.

Driver apps, field-service apps, customer apps, internal tools. Native where it matters, Flutter or React Native when a shared codebase pays for itself, a PWA when the store isn’t worth the trouble.

See mobile work

Hosting and care for the long tail.

Managed hosting, daily backups, uptime monitoring, SSL, and a real human on the support ticket. For sites we built, and a few we didn’t.

How a project lives at D3V

No pitch decks. No 40-slide kick-offs. Just four phases.

01 week one

Scope, in plain English

A 45-minute call. We mind-map your problem, sketch the shape of a solution, and tell you honestly if we’re the right studio for it.

// no NDA needed for chat #1
Mind map sketch with branching ideas around a central problem
02 weeks 1 to 2

Prototype that runs

You see a working prototype within 2 weeks, not a Figma file. Real data, real flows, hosted on a real URL you can poke at.

// prototype hosting included
Two paper screens stitched together with handwritten arrows
03 build window

Build and iterate

Weekly demos. Email walk-throughs. A shared Linear board if you want one. We default to ship-then-polish over polish-then-ship.

// you can pause anytime
Sketch of a Git commit graph with labels
04 after launch

Run the thing

Hosting, monitoring, monthly check-ins, and a real human on the other end of the support ticket. We stay on after launch.

// year-one support included
Workshop bench with maintenance tools and a glowing status light
Selected work

A few things we’ve built
that we’re still proud of.

Map-style sketch with a single illuminated route
Logistics SaaS

A fleet platform that runs on calm.

Driver app, dispatch board, customer portal and the integrations that tie them together. Built in Laravel + Livewire, shipped in 14 weeks.

Stack of paper call cards with handwritten phone numbers
Telephony

Telephony for boutique teams.

A modern PBX with AI-routing built in. Launched 2025, scaled to thousands of calls per day.

Salon chair and a phone with an active call indicator
AI voice

The salon that books itself.

A real-time voice agent that answers after hours, takes bookings and emails the owner a summary at 7am.

A grid of tyre cross-sections drawn as small icons
E-commerce

27,000 SKUs that load fast.

WooCommerce with a custom catalogue layer for fitment search and live stock from three suppliers.

Site photo turning into a priced quote sketch
Internal tools

Quoting that used to take an hour.

Now takes 90 seconds. A bespoke quoting tool that turns site photos into priced jobs with an LLM assist.

Why teams pick D3V

Three things bigger agencies cannot do.

i.

You talk to the dev, not an account exec.

No three-week handover. The engineer who scopes your project is the engineer who writes the code, and the engineer who answers the email when it breaks.

ii.

We pick boring tech on purpose.

Laravel, Livewire, Postgres, Tailwind, Cloudflare. The stuff that’ll still be supported when this year’s React framework gets deprecated.

iii.

AI without the cargo cult.

We ship AI where it genuinely cuts hours from your week, and push back when it doesn’t. No “let’s add a chatbot because everyone has one”.

The bits everyone asks

Frequently asked, honestly answered.

How long until something’s on a screen I can use?
Two weeks for a working prototype on a real URL. Six to eight weeks for a polished marketing site. For custom web or mobile applications, expect three to nine months once we have scoped the build, depending on the size and shape of what you need. Anything with hardware or regulatory approvals attached takes longer, and we will tell you up front.
Do you build on WordPress or proper apps?
Both, on purpose. If a WordPress site is the right tool, we’ll build a clean one. If your problem actually needs a real application, we’ll use Laravel + Livewire. We won’t push you onto whichever stack is easier for us to invoice.
Will an AI voice agent sound like a robot?
No. We use best-in-class realtime voice models and write the prompts ourselves, so the agent sounds like a real receptionist, including the awkward pauses. You can hear ours by clicking the speaker icon in the chat above.
What happens after launch?
Year-one support is included on every project: bug fixes, small tweaks, uptime monitoring and a monthly check-in. After that, most clients move onto a small monthly retainer.
Where are you and who owns the code?
Christchurch, New Zealand. Same timezone as you, give or take. You own the code, the design files and the data. Full stop. We hand over a private repository at the end of every project.
Next step

Tell us what’s broken.
We’ll tell you if we can fix it.

A 45-minute call. No pitch, no obligation, no “let me loop in our partnerships team”. If we’re the right studio, we’ll say so. If we’re not, we know who is.
